The Kiwi-made Dickey Custom 950 is a fishing boat like no other. Its high tech electronics and genuinely innovative design features will have you wishing you had one. Here are just a few from this package.

ELECTRONICS AND IPAD INTEGRATION

“A new development with this Dickey Custom 950 is the integration of C-Zone electronics,” says Jason Dickey, Managing Director at Dickey Boats. “It gives the customer an interactive experience with their boat. The boat does the thinking, they just need to tell it what to do.”

He’s not kidding when he shows off the electronics package. This boat’s current capabilities include Anchor, Cruising and Docked modes; Bottom Fishing and Game Fishing modes; in addition to Night Lights and Day Lights mode. Its functions can be controlled from an iPad.

“This is the future of boating,” Jason says.

WHEELHOUSE

The main lounge area in the wheelhouse has booth seating that can comfortably accommodate up to four people. Inside the cabin, the rear windows can open out laterally in several sections, creating a continuous, open space. Jason Dickey points out that this setup allows you get out of the shade but still be part of the action.

Below are two single-berth bunks, with the bottom one converting into a double-berth (while still leaving room for entry into the head). The galley can also fold back to reveal an additional 2m berth.

LIVEBAIT STATION

The livebait tank (with a window) looks pretty much flush on the transom. The baitstaion then opens up to reveal the tank itself that also houses two tuna tubes.
