Motivated Seller
This is a solid yacht owned and operated by a passionate yachtsman for many years and is read to be taken over by an enthusiastic new owner and family.
New engine professionally installed to replace the original engine , very low hours on the new very clean installation.
This is a fantastic opportunity to own a very solid , easy to sail yacht that is simple and easy to own and operate. Own your own piece of waterfront and access to the wonderful cruising opportunities around Auckland.
1972 Delta 36 - "Katinka," powered by a Volvo Penta D1-30 with only 250 hours. Crafted in Germany by Delta Yachts, she sailed to New Zealand independently, proving her prowess as an extremely capable blue water vessel.
Designer Uwe Bartels conceived the Delta 36 initially for regattas but skillfully adapted it into a swift and secure cruising yacht with timeless aesthetics whilst still meeting both IOR and KR measurement standards.
With a low center of gravity achieved through the strategic placement of heavy components below the waterline, including water tanks, engine, and battery banks, the vessel boasts exceptional sailing performance, especially in strong winds. Its elegantly contoured underwater hull effortlessly cuts through waves, demonstrating stability without any noticeable "stamping."
The yacht's design, reminiscent of Sparkman & Stephens constructions, features a slender hull profile and extended overhangs. Notably, the fin keel enhances maneuverability, combining grace with outstanding performance for an overall exceptional sailing experience.
"Katinka" comes complete with an extensive inventory and a 2.3-meter tender. For more information and to schedule a viewing, contact Neville Montgomery 021 991 246
