Senator Boats delivers a selection of pontoon and larger aluminium monohulls and the range begins at 4.4m LOA, and culminates in an 11m vessel.
The boats are renowned for their tough construction but soft ride, a reputation reinforced by the number of Senator craft used by Government departments, other authorities and commercial marine operators.
They also enjoy a reputation for enhanced safety. The multi-chambered construction style of the pontoon (positive buoyancy) boats makes them virtually unsinkable. All hulls are constructed from marine grade alloy and come with a two-year structural warranty.
As the smallest in the Senator range, the RC440 (LOA 4.49m) is described as being perfect for first-time boaties who just want to get out there and enjoy the experience. Scores of them are in use, all over the country.
In addition to stability, the pontoons provide excellent sea handling characteristics, and the portofino-style transom offers divers/swimmers easy access to and from the water. There is also plenty of storage in the transom compartment.
The RC440’s hull weighs 270kg, so it’s relatively easy to slide off and on to its DMW, multi-roller trailer. Those with a yen for fishing will enjoy the boat’s cockpit – it’s one of the biggest for a vessel of this size, and the 4mm welded deck-tread in the cockpit makes for secure footing.
A 40hp Yamaha on the transom offers more than enough power to get the RC440 up on the plane in seconds.
Standard equipment includes two pedestal seats, anchor storage, two rod holders, a front bollard and bow guide rails, and a transducer mount plate.
