Maritimo Muster delivers a standout weekend at Man O’ War Bay
What you’re buying into
Maritimo builds high-end Australian motor yachts designed for long-range offshore cruising. They are known for their shaft drive setups, which favour reliability, efficiency, and simpler maintenance over more complex systems.
A key part of the appeal is how practical they are to use. Enclosed flybridges add usable space in all conditions, internal stairs improve safety, and wide walkaround decks make moving around at sea easier. Built for tough conditions, they offer strong structural integrity and the range to plan proper trips, not just short runs.
What’s on the market
Maritimo listings in New Zealand show a clear spread across size, age, and price, but they tend to group into a few natural bands.
Entry level
Smaller or earlier models sit at the lower end of the range, including sub 10 metre boats and older cruisers. These offer a more accessible way into the brand, typically trading from a few hundred thousand dollars through to around the $1M mark depending on size and condition.
Mid range
Most listings sit in the 50 to 57 foot range, generally priced between $1.2M and $2M. These are newer or well maintained models that reflect how most owners use the boats today, capable offshore, comfortable at anchor, and suited to extended weekends or coastal runs.
Top end
Late model boats in a similar size bracket but newer builds push closer to the $2M mark and beyond. These bring updated layouts, newer systems, and a more refined onboard experience, reflecting where current demand is strongest.
What to expect
These boats are designed for exactly what the Waiheke weekend showed, relaxed cruising, social boating, and time away from the marina.
Fuel burn, maintenance, and berthing all scale with size, but so does capability. Owners are buying range, reliability, and the ability to plan trips rather than day runs.
