Whittley boats hit Kiwi shores

Whittley boats have a proven reputation across the South Pacific region as ‘the classy glass hull’ and they’re about to make a big splash in New Zealand waters.

The full range of new Whittley boats will be on display at the Auckland On Water Boat Show from 16ft all-rounders to deep-vee offshore fishing boats to modern cruisers up to 28ft in length.

Whittley director of sales and marketing Alan Whittley says, “The Auckland On Water Boat Show is the perfect opportunity to see the range – and experience the superior glass ride that Whittley glass hulls offer. Even our popular cruising models have exceptional offshore performance.”

The Whittley range will appeal to family fishermen and hard-core boat owners and feature both outboard and stern-drive configurations. The new Volvo stern-drives (available in petrol or diesel) have been making huge waves. Featuring a low centre of gravity in the hull, compact design, punchy performance and miserly fuel consumption, the modern stern-drives have been taking share away from traditional outboard set-ups.

Bensemann Boating Centre’s Graeme Bensemann said, “New Zealand boat owners will love Whittley boats. They are modern-looking, great-riding glass hulls, with a wide range of models available for family fishermen all the way through to serious offshore fishermen and cruising couples. And all Whittley boats are under the legal towing width for our roads.”

Whittley boats will be distributed by Graham and Rose Bensemann from Bensemann Boating Centre, a second-generation family business with 40 years in the New Zealand marine industry. New dealers across New Zealand will be announced in coming months.
