AT SBM NOW - MV Allure - A new exclusive listing for SBM and one I am again so grateful for. Being a boatie and just loving all things floating that not only have been built for a purpose, but maintained to the HIGHEST level, MV Allure offers everything and more to the true boating connoisseur. I inspected this boat a few weeks ago, and my mind went into immediate overdrive as to what I could do with this boat, and the extended cruising she offers. Being a mad Barra fisherman, this boat is just oozes far North Qld as her home to be, as the current owners have made a lifestyle decision to now explore the inner beauty of Australia by RV, and hence it would kill them to see their baby lay dormant and not used. The current owners have travelled extensively on MV Allure, with live aboard trips extending over 5 months ! The boat has so much redundancy it is not funny, there are back up pumps for the back up pumps, she is that well built. She recently has a major Refit with Norman Wright and Sons Pty Ltd . I don't want to go on to much, as I simply can't describe all the features of this boat here. The good news is I am creating an inventory as we speak. So if the MV Allure is of interest, please register your interest, and we will get back to you shortly with more details. MV Allure has to be inspected to be appreciated, and with a replacement cost of well over $6m, she offers amazing value, given there is not a cent to spend. The owner has spent $$$$$$$ recently ensuring the boat is A1 condition and this is reflective of her immaculate condition from bilge to helm in every respect. Asking $ 2.79 m Vessel History It is a 70 foot, Timber, long range cruising vessel launched in 1998 and underwent a major refit by Norman Wright and Sons that was completed in 2005 Allure's hull is constructed from two inch Spotted Gum to the gunwale and Oregon above the gunwale. This is a Timber planked boat built so well you can not tell its timber. This boat is a masterpiece and has been designed and built for long range cruising. The vessel is powered by twin 3406 Caterpillars that have done approx 1540 hrs and 1566 hrs. The fuel capacity of approximately 12,000 litres provides for extended cruising. It cruises at 10 knots all day long. You can eat your dinner off the engine room floor; the engine room also accommodates a Dolphin desalination unit that supplies fresh water to the 5000 litre capacity water tank. There are two 60 KVA Hino Generator sets that provide power to the vessel. The vessel also is fitted with Model 302 Naiad Stabilisers that provide a very comfortable ride in ordinary conditions. There are 4 Cruisair Air Conditioner units that provide air to the total vessel. There is also a very serious Hydraulic anchor winch, Mastervolt Inverter, Neptune Battery Charger, Bench, Vice and Sink unit in the Engine room. The vessel has incredible refrigeration capacity, fridge, freezer and Fruit and Vegetable units in the main galley. There is a drinks fridge on the rear deck as well as another one on the fly bridge level. In the rear Lazarette there is two very large freezers as well as an icemaker. The main refrigeration unit is a very serious unit there is also a secondary smaller unit as a back up in case of an emergency. REAR DECK / Duckboard / Lazarette. Rear deck Table that sits 8. Storage under the seating, including a water pressure blaster. An outside toilet. Duck Board with Fish cleaning facilities and Outriggers, salt water and fresh water taps / hoses for cleaning down. Just Listed and at SBM now and OMG what a Weapon! 2009 Midnight Express Fwd Cabin Model. For those boaties who are after a serious fun toy that will turn heads, be the most awesome Harbour escape vehicle and or at the same time provide the ultimate platform to chase hard core Pelagic offshore - the Marlin season is not far away! Want to know more? Enjoy the article below! A mobile phone rings, the photographic boat is on its way, and its skipper asks where we are hiding? With a rush of blood, I have slipped into the saddle on the Midnight 37, bridled its 3 x 300hp outboard engines, tugged on the reins, and given them a boot full. Quick as that, we are now some distance up the coast from Sydney. There's been nigh a bang, jolt, or lick of spray. This is power boating at its finest. "See you in five," is our reply before calling on the 900 horses to propel us back from where we came. I draw a line under the towering sandstone cliffs that stand guard to Sydney Harbour. The water flows deep by their weedy edge, but it's more of a test due to the waves bouncing back off the rock platforms. Even in calm seas, it's a washing machine in here. Not that you would realise doing 40 kts cruise on the Midnight. Indeed, "see you in five" is a fitting catchcry for the Midnight 37. With 3 x 300hp Mercury supercharged Verado outboard engines snorting astern - yes, you heard it right, as one person put it to me on a triple-rig some years ago, pigs at the trough - you are never far from anywhere. And while you might draw breath at the thought of 3 outboards, the thing is it's not like you're clocking up too many operating hours on this point-and-shoot rocket ship. We range from Sydney's CBD to Manly in roughly five minutes, but once comfortable with the triple setup I put this pursuit boat to the offshore test. Impressively, in seas of about a metre all round, it's not like you have to back off. In fact, I take it up a notch. With a tweak of the sports wheel, we bound offshore to Fairy Bower, an oceanic roadstead at the southern end of famous Manly Beach, arriving in the blink of a couple of watering eyes and with barely a feather out of place. The Midnight 37 is just so well behaved it makes you want to take to sea. And with that all kinds of options open up. Palm Beach is a 15-20 minute run from Sydney; Jervis Bay or Port Stephens is less than two hours away; Tangalooma would be a short run from the Gold Coast; and you could make lightning raids on places all over Port Phillip Bay, the SA Gulfs, and WA. Talk about tackling the tyranny of distance. What's more, given the precious commodity called time, this boat actually makes sense. BUSTING THE BADDIES But in the case of Midnight Boats, truth is stranger than fiction. The story goes that a South American drug lord began building the boats in the 1980s. Word got around that they could outrun the US drug enforcement agencies and, after a couple of quick deals, the boats were in hot demand by fellow drug runners. When the original owner was finally busted, the US Government gave him an ultimatum: build the boats for us or we throw away the key. They got the company, and he got to walk. The moulds were sold off some time later to American owners and, nowadays, clean-living civilians are given the chance to jump behind the wheel. Thus, it's testimony to the unsinkable performance that Midnights still covet respect among law-enforcement agencies and those they pursue on the high seas. The US Navy and customs are among the government agencies who have fleets of the specially-made 39-foot Interceptors fitted with quads - although five outboards aren't unheard of - usually a 50mm machine gun, and a brig. Designed for nothing more than the pursuit of pleasure, the 37 has it all and more . When the mood strikes, say on a sunny Sunday, the Midnight makes reaching the weekender a snap and certainly outruns the terrestrial traffic. But unlike a lot of multi-engine, point-and-shoot boats I have driven - Scarabs, Hydrasports, Boston Whalers, Contenders (we left on in our wake on the day), Wellcrafts, Black watch, et al - the Midnight also wows with impeccable manners. ON RAILS Offshore, there is no chine walking that requires a correction on the wheel, no over or under steering, nothing untoward. Here, speed comes with control. Dare I say, almost anyone can drive it. And fast. Another nice thing is that, at these speeds, the spray is left behind. Thanks also to an additional spray rail high up the hull sides, you get an exceptional dry ride. When you advance the throttles, the 37 shoots forward nice and level and, as such, there's never any loss of vision. That's quite some achievement with the weight of 3 four-stroke outboards on the tail and it points to the great wet-track form of the special twin-stepped hull. While the twin-stepped hull is designed to break free of the water and reduce drag, it doesn't get unnecessarily airborne. In fact, it's a real effort getting hang time in the bouncy water below North Head. Cruising at 35-40 knots , the boat wants to stay connected. When the 3 whirring props finally break free, it's only for a split second before they bite and, thus, there's no real loss of speed. With a deep-vee with 22degrees of dead rise, the hull cleaves the waves. But and as there's very little boat above the waterline, it remains stable underfoot. Abundant non-skid mouldings and rails where you reach for them add to the surefooted ride offshore. Meanwhile, to handle the loads of high-speed offshore boating, the hull is built using composite materials: hand laid fibreglass over a strong Nida-Core (polypropylene) honeycomb core, pulled together via vacuum bagging. There is also a bonded interlocking stringer system and a hull and decks joined to create a monocoque or one-piece structure that doesn't shake, rattle or roll. Compared with some, the lithe hull isn't exactly a lightweight, weighing in at 6800kg, with the 3 outboards accounting for an additional 850kg. But it's this and the hull design that helps keep this boat in the water at speed. And, as such, you're not battling to hold on as you get airborne. It's smooth and fast, predictable BUT fun. FULL-BORE UTE Although a point-and-shoot boat, there's a degree of utility about the Midnight 37 . The ride comfort and seating are such that you can carry a crowd and be first to the best anchorages. But given the distances you can cover, I'm imaging you will be exploring a lot of places where dayboaters and the hoi polloi otherwise fail to reach. Distant ports of call, offshore islands and upriver boltholes are all on the cards. The adventurer really is spoilt for choice. Once you arrive at your destination, anchoring duties are taken care of by a push-button windlass. It's then that the 37 aims to please with its plush bow adult-length sunpads or daybeds. Like all good centre consoles the sub-floor area is a catacomb of storage, plus there's storage under the moulded seat bases. Most of the hatches are lined, while some are fully insulated so as to double as fish or drink boxes. Shade comes gratis courtesy of a robust Bimini top built on a powder-coated aluminium frame. 3 sided clears made out of strata glass keep all the wind and any spary away almost to the point it is an enclosed helm area. HELM SETUP The helm is fitted with a two-person lounge built over an amenities nature. The awesome dash was replete with digital and analogue engine gauges, two big Garmin screens with GPS chart plotting, sounder and radar functions, trim tab controls and among other things like the windlass and spotlight remotes. She is also fitted with night vision and side power bow thruster. The race-type trim tabs were used to effect offshore, with a touch of tab keeping us glued to the water, and a touch of opposing tab keeping us on an even keel when travelling fast beam-on to the wind and waves, but by and large the boat runs in fine fettle without them. Predictably, there was an impressive clarion sound system, a TV & DVD player, so you could watch a movie on the dash if you felt so inclined. The boat is highly optioned. BULLSEYE With 3 x 350hp outboards purring astern, we attracted plenty of looks on Sydney Harbour. Inevitably, the boat is something of a police magnet, too. But as the owners aren't the criminal type, the local constabulary are more inclined to wave than pull them over these days. They have already grown tired from doing that several times, I'm told. Rather than being about speed and pose, the Midnight is more about finely tuned performance and poise. Inquire today for a complete inventory and to make an appointment to inspect We look forward to being of service to your future boating lifestyle and summer is a knocking at the door ! --------------------------------------------------------------- The Brief: There comes a time in every boaties life when the need for speed gives way to simpler and slower pursuits. Eventually, we all like to stop and smell the roses. Why go speeding around flat out from Point A to Point B, burning plenty of fuel as you go, when you can achieve the same goal at a much more leisurely pace. Plus, in the case of the Beneteau Swift Trawler 42, it's luxury all the way. The Swift 42 has a timeless beauty that boaties seem to appreciate more the older they get. It has that gentlemen's club feel about it, kinda warm and inviting. Entering the open-plan saloon you find it functional and flooded with natural light. It was designed to maximise space. The galley is to port opposite the helm bench seat. There's a huge leather lounge to starboard that converts into an equally large double bed. Folded, the dining table is a neat coffee table size, but once extended it can accommodate four diners comfortably. The joinery of the cabinets is perfect and storage has been optimised in all possible areas. Beneteau also uses a simple but effective latch system for its cupboards. You poke your finger into the hole provided, which pushes a plate out of the way opening the door. It's simple and never likely to fail. Quality Venetian blinds are used to control the amount of light in the main saloon. When open, these blinds offer 360-degree panoramic views. When you get sick of the view, weigh anchor and change your scenery. Layout This style of boat has been compared to a caravan on water, albeit an extremely luxurious one. Plus, she's a true passage maker. What was it the brochure said' 'An apartment with all-round 360-degree views. What more could you ask for'' The Swift also boasts two comfortable and roomy double cabins with generous storage and head compartments with separate shower units. This makes for comfortable cruising for two couples. The big pilothouse saloon opens through two sliding side doors (port and starboard) onto wide, teak-laid side decks. On each side there's a step up that gives access to the open bow area. There's a large sun pad forward of the windscreen, but this area's biggest plus is that it is wide and basically flat, effectively making it another place to entertain when at anchor. The split bowrail and windlass take all the hard work out of anchoring tasks, while the more than knee-high rail adds to the security of those moving forward. The Swift Trawler was designed for outdoor living. Theflybridge is impressive. Its sheer size means that it can also be used for entertaining. The L-shaped lounge can accommodate six people, while the skipper gets a bucket seat and the navigator a seat that rests against the side of the barbeque. A simple manual davit quickly launches the RIB tender. Its main mast allows for the mounting of the radar and other electronic equipment well up out of the way, so it isn't going to fry the brain of anyone on the flybridge. Now, for the piece de resistance. The aft cockpit is massive, covered by the flybridge floor and houses four huge compartments that can hold a mountain of gear. One of the lockers also holds the two gas bottles for the barbeque. The aft cockpit also has closing side doors on each side that completely seal off the area. With the clears in place and the doors closed the aft cockpit can be used in any weather. For a vessel of this size the engine room is enormous. There is more than enough room in there to carry out daily servicing and regular maintenance. Performance The 42 is powered by twin 200hp Yanmar engines that give her a top speed of 22 knots. The twin 200hp diesels are economical to run and give her a range 300nm at 22 knots. Pull the hammers back to 12 knots (a comfortable off shore speed) and a trip from Sydney to the Whitsundays isn't out of the question. Built on a semi-displacement hull, the Swift 42 combines the advantage of a conventional trawler with those of a power cruiser. The most noticeable aspect of a semi-displacement hull is the absence of the transition to plane. Bring her up to speed and she effortlessly gets up and running without any quibbles. The rudders and propellers are housed in mini tunnels, so you can run this boat up onto a beach without damaging the running gear. This tunnel system also allows the boat to turn effi ciently in little more than its own length without any tail slippage. Slow speed manoeuvrability is impressive. You'll also find this cruiser is an extremely quiet boat. Even flat out the engine room insulationkeeps noise to a muffled, low hum. Overall The Beneteau Swift Trawler 42 is an impressive vessel with all the luxuries of home and then some. The smaller engines make her economical to run, but she still retains a turn of speed to get you from Point A to B quickly if required. She's a true live aboard vessel with the sea legs to make long ocean passages in complete safety and comfort. Engine Room The Swift 42 is powered by twin 200hp Yanmar engines that give her a top speed of 22 knots. The optional twin 370hp engines would certainly give that speed a nudge, but the team agree the style and normal tasks this vessel will be asked to perform don't warrant the higher power. Performance With three adults onboard in calm conditions on Sydney Harbour the 42 recorded the following speed-torpm readings. Speed to RPM: 4.3 knots @ 1000 rpm, 8.4 knots @ 2000, 12.7 knots @ 3000, 17.6 knots @ 3200.

All I can preface is by saying OMG OMG OMG !!!! Exclusive Dealer Its very very rare, given the number of Power Boats and Motor Yachts inspects/ sells annually all over the globe, where you get onboard a vessel and instantly the stresses of everyday life immediately dissolve within & you begin to start to dream of your Bucket list and road to retirement. Enjoy the Video on this stunning boat below (need to copy and paste into your URL) https:///4Dx7gwypQlw I am not talking about the general Bucklet List here, such as spending more time on the water up on the Pittwater or Harbour...Im talking about the real deal provisioning the boat, loading up the surf boards, fishing roads, Kayaks, Dive gear etc and then casting off the lines and getting off the grid for months, or years, at a time. Had enough of the fast paced lifestyle we all endure, and just well want to live a more simpler lifestyle, where the only worries in the world revolve around decisions like what time do you want your first coffee in the morning, and for dinner or well the very hard decision of whether to eat freshly caught lobster you caught diving during the day on the BBQ with Garlic & Butter sauce & a good Sav Blanc, or maybe Fresh Coral Trout bugger it, why not both!!!!!!!!!!! Well we are extremely proud to exclusively present MV Texas Lady for sale and this is believe me one very very very rare opportunity. Texas Lady is one such luxury MotorYacht that has the capabilities of taking where your dreams can only imagine and beyond. With a range of over 2500 nm, hows Fiji sound? New Caledonia? South East Asia.... Ill take them all and more -YOLO MV Texas Lady has had one very cool and fastidious owner since her build in 200, and has undergone major refits over the years keeping up in great order and up to date with technology. With recent upgrades including stationary stabilers and a 2nd Genset to name a few, this stunning boat is ready to go. When you first step aboard Texas Lady, you immediately feel like you are in the presence of a ship. The exterior bulwarks, high-sided coamings and split level aft deck area, conjure up images of the kind of seas that this boat has been built to encounter. Texas Lady is a boat that clearly portrays the craftsmanship and attention to detail that you would expect in much larger vessels. Texas Lady was built in New Zealand and is based on an Erwin Haag steel hull design with an aluminium topside and flybridge styling and internal layout by Bob Salthouse. New Zealand native rimu has been used extensively and is offset with American maple on the floors, burr elm tabletops and a deep rich red Australian jarra beading. There is an accent on quality and a depth of finish that you would expect but not always get in a vessel of this size. Dedicated attention to design and detail provides a warm and inviting interior where space has been well utilised. For example, the 32mm solid timber doors right throughout the vessel are each made from 43 pieces of timber handcrafted and intricately pieced together. The occasional table is a rich mix of native timbers and there is an intelligent balance between timbers and fabrics. All guest accommodation is forward with three cabins off a central passageway each with separate bathrooms providing a total of 9 individual berths. The Owners stateroom is situated aft of the engine room and features a huge bathroom and copious storage areas. From a practical point of view, the forward facing galley is ideal. The layout is superb and the space is perfectly in keeping with the rest of the boat. Fully equipped to cater for a large complement of guests, whether on day cruises or extended passage-making, the galley has been designed to make food preparation and serving as hassle free as possible. This includes an easy to clean and functional stainless steel top with a knurled handrail around the leading edge. There is an electric oven, two dishwasher drawers, microwave, and gas cook top, full two door refrigerators with water and ice and huge Watermaker. A built-in dinette helps to make this a favourite place aboard Texas Lady and it is extensively used during day cruising or when parked in a quiet bay. Being forward of the main saloon, the crew have access to the huge galley area from the side decks without having to pass through into the main saloon where the owners may be entertaining their guests. The main saloon is split into two distinctive areas with the dining forward and the lounge aft. Leather is used throughout. High profile windows allow for excellent visibility. The size of the saloon is outstanding and worthy of a far larger boat. This is accentuated by the fact that the saloon and dining areas have no distinctive divisions and share the same overall space. From the aft deck you can see right through to the galley due to the abundance of internal space. Overhead the curved panelling contains the air conditioning ducting and hidden lighting which provides a pleasant mood atmosphere. Chrome beading accentuates the Rimu panelling and serves to remind those on board of the intricate attention to detail that is prevalent throughout the whole vessel. Situated around the twin companionways that lead downstairs to the accommodation areas are a bookshelf with individual cocktail cabinet and a well stocked entertainment centre including satellite IQ Foxtel/Apple TV. The flybridge area is fully equipped for serious passage making and Texas Lady has the latest Simrad navigation and maxsea mapping system. The helm seats (2) are from a Grand Jeep Cherokee and modified to include all the remotes on the seat arms for the bow thruster and steering. There is a full TEXAS LADY sized chart table to starboard and the upstairs lounger has proven a great bonus to accommodate unexpected guests overnight. Access to the upper deck is via the flybridge where the teak decks carry on that small ship feeling. An outside table seating up to 10 guests makes for an alfresco dining experience in the sub tropical climates. Texas Lady is a sizeable boat that provides an excellence of finish and styling that is impressive. It has the capacity and equipment to handle serious passage making or would be just as at home anchored up in Sydney Harbour or the Qld Whitsundays.
