A 66 Flybridge and a Magellano 53 were recently sold to two Kiwi buyers
Two local buyers recently purchased a 66 Flybridge and a Magellano 53, Pinnacle Marine European Ltd, the New Zealand distributor for Azimut Yachts, confirmed.
“These first-time buyers viewed the 53 Magellano with us at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2018 and have since fallen in love with the style/concept and configuration of the Magellano,” says Grant Saunders, dealer principal of Pinnacle Marine.
He added that the owners will be handed the yacht in Italy in May where they plan to enjoy some of the European summer on-board the yacht in the Mediterranean before it’s shipped to New Zealand.
The 66 Flybridge model will feature the new ‘Riviera’ interior—the first 66 in the world to receive this décor—which comprises brushed desert oak, pearl tai, and gloss mahogany textures. It features a four-plus-one crew cabin configuration along with five heads. Power comes from twin Caterpillar C18 1150hp engines with a cruise 28 knots and a top speed of 32 knots.
It will be homed in the Westhaven Marina.
Grant says the 2018 Cannes Yachting Festival saw a record number of Kiwi buyers attend the show—Europe’s largest.
“We are currently experiencing significant interest in the Azimut brand from local buyers. We had 10 buyers meet us at Cannes to view the range last September, and we’re now seeing that filter through with the confirmation of yacht orders,” he says.
The festival will be on again this year from 10 to 15 September and will also see Azimut celebrate its 50th year with the release of up to five new models.
