Fi-Glass, known for their family cabin boats, recently adapted one of their Invincible RIBs for a commercial application. The result was a semi-bespoke utility boat now used for marina duties.

The 5.6m Invincible RIB is a decent workhorse and at the same time, nimble and quick when it needs to be. The one Trade-A-Boat checked out at Lyttelton has been specifically designed for use in the marinas. It features large, heavy-duty towing points forward, midship, and down aft, making it easy to pull alongside a larger boat, and as it’s tube-based, it’s extremely stable when at rest.

The Invincible RIB has a fantastic centre console with forward seat, with a Simrad fish finder GPS, which encompasses all gauges on one screen. Coupled with a 90hp Mercury four-stroke engine, the boat offers great power and manoeuvrability even at low speeds.

The hull is based on the tried-and-true Fi-Glass dominator—more than 3000 models have been built so far—and comes with a non-skid floor.

While the one we saw was specially built for commercial use, Griff Simpson, Fi-Glass Boats managing director, says that the boat can be also be used by family for recreational fishing and boating.

It’s versatile and definitely worth considering for your next adventure on the water.
