Yamaha unveils #ImRePoweringWithYamaha winners

Yamaha Marine New Zealand has announced the winners of its #ImRepoweringWithYamaha competition.

Yamaha launched the #ImRePoweringWithYamaha competition in June, looking for one lucky boat owner to receive a new Yamaha outboard motor, rigged and installed on their boat for free.

Entrants were required to create a video showing themselves and their boat telling the Yamaha judging panel who they were, where they are from, and a bit about their boat and why they needed a Yamaha repower.

With more than 200 entries received, Yamaha Marine New Zealand elected to give away three four-stroke Yamaha outboard engines.

“We were overwhelmed with the amount of submissions we received for this competition. There were a lot of comedians in the mix, some heart felt stories, and we loved viewing all of the submissions,” said Yamaha Motor New Zealand national marine manager, Richard Shaw.

“Because we had so many entries, and it was hard to narrow it down to just one, we decided to not repower just one boat, but three!”

The three winners to receive a new Yamaha four-stroke outboard, completely free are: Aroha Te-Kahika of Palmerston North, will get a repower of his vessel; Josh Schroder of Turangi will receive a new Yamaha four-stroke on his Ramco 5 metre, and the Anderson family of Swannanoa, who chose to receive a new Yamaha 175hp four-stroke on the back of their Haines Hunter SF600 Sea-A-Saurus.

The repowers of all three boats will begin at Yamaha dealerships in the coming weeks with the process being captured via a video series.
